Henry A. Alvarez, III is a graduate of San Diego State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, with Distinction, in Afro-American Studies. Mr. Alvarez received a Master of Public Administration degree in 1996 from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon as well. Before joining the SFHA in July 2008, Mr. Alvarez honed his housing skills in a variety of positions including being a member of the San Diego Housing Commission, Assistant Director for housing and tenant services at the Washington County Department of Housing Services in Oregon and as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the San Antonio Housing Authority. He has also achieved recognition for his professional and voluntary contributions to the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO). With more than 20 years of public housing agency experience, Henry A. Alvarez, III brings in-depth expertise and first-hand knowledge of the needs of low-income families to his role as the Executive Director of the San Francisco Housing Authority.

Anthony Ihejeto has Public Housing and Property Management experience since 1987, managing Federally subsidized and affordable housing programs. At the Authority, he oversees the Housing Management Division, where he is responsible for all Property Management functions. Before joining the San Francisco Housing Authority, he worked in the Section 8 program for the City of Houston Housing Authority, the Alameda County Housing Authority and the Pittsburgh Housing Authority in Contra Costa County. Mr. Ihejeto has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in City Planning.

Barbara Smith has over 25 years' experience with low income and affordable housing in San Francisco. She holds a Bachelor's degree in environmental design and a Master's in public administration. Ms. Smith served as the director of the Mayor's Office of Housing where she managed affordable housing loan programs and the development of surplus public property. At the Housing Authority she directs a $250 million program to revitalize San Francisco public housing. Ms. Smith leads a group that has obtained $115 million in HOPE VI funding to rebuild six major housing developments across the city. Her HOPE VI team has obtained an additional $135 million in low income tax credits, private and FHA loans, tax exempt bonds and other funds.
