Mission - to improve public and affordable housing opportunities and living conditions through modernization, reconstruction, innovative revitalization proposals and implementation programs, development of financial strategies and aggressive pursuit of legislative and funding opportunities.

Planning and Program Development Services - develops plans for the revitalization of public housing sites and master planned areas in coordination with other SFHA departments, residents and community groups; secures funding sources from HUD, MOH, MOCD and others, and leverages other public and private resources and manages the implementation of these efforts; manages the coordination with other SFHA departments, residents, community groups and community based organizations and stakeholders; and assesses housing needs.

Construction Management Services - manages consultants, contractors and private partners providing design and construction services; and manages environmental, demolition and construction-related services and processes, including the appropriate procurement of consultants and services. It also serves as an engine to provide resident employment.

Financial Management Services - pursues innovative financing strategies and provides budget management for all development projects, including HOPE VI, Capital Funds and other sources.

Computer Learning Centers and Community and Supportive Services - manages all Computer Learning Centers (nine) in the SFHA, provides for service providers (there are eleven day care facilities in public housing sites) and provides case management services for all HOPE VI families. It also manages www.thebeehive.org, an on-line referral and information system.
